ABS announces ISO 9001:2000 registration

June 2002 -- Ontario, Canada - American Remanufacturers, Inc., (ARI) is proud to announce the ISO 9001: 2000 certification of its ABS Friction Materials Division. ARI began this process in May of 2001, with the development and approval of a detailed implementation and certification plan.

Rick Jamieson President of ABS states, "The new ISO 2000 standard focuses on the customer and is a real improvement over the 1994 standard. ABS is pleased to be one of the first companies in our industry who have achieved this new standard. Over the past five years ABS has demonstrated a continued customer focus but this qualifying process has given us an opportunity to review and make improvements to our operations."

Ralph Neil Director of Sales adds "We have found the feedback we have received from customers to our surveys to be a real benefit to both ABS and the customer. It really helped us focus on customer specific needs."

The ISO 9001: 2000 certification covers the quality assurance system for Integrally Molded disc brake pads for import and domestic passenger cars, light and medium trucks. ISO 9001: 2000 is the certification of a quality assurance system; therefore, ABS’ achievement of ISO 9001: 2000 certification signifies their commitment to quality and total customer satisfaction.
