Rick Jamieson is CEO, Chief Energizing Officer, of ABS Friction, a company he co-founded in 1995. At ABS, Rick is responsible for driving corporate strategy and business development.

Guelph-based ABS Friction is a manufacturer and industry leader of disc brake pads and distributor of brake shoes for the automotive replacement market, currently supplying to over 25 unique markets around the world.

A native of Guelph, Ontario, Rick earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo and is a Chartered Accountant. Rick was also elected a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (FCA), the highest designation that the Institute confers.

Rick’s commitment to innovation in business leadership is supported through his membership in the Young Presidents' Organization as Chapter Chair of the Western Ontario Chapter of YPO; as member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization and a past Co-Chairman of the Toronto Chapter of EO; as current Director and former President and Chairman of the Friction Materials Standard Institute; as Chairman of the Friction Materials Committee of the Brake Manufacturer’s Council and Director of the BMC. Sharing his passions, Rick enjoys being given the opportunity to speak on the friction industry and entrepreneurship.

Harbouring a keen interest in golf and hockey, Rick is Past President and former Director of the Guelph Cutten Club, as well as being trainer of two local minor peewee hockey teams. A life long learner, Rick also enjoys gourmet cooking, great wine and travel in his down time.
