CEO
Rick Jamieson is
CEO or “Chief Energizing Officer” of ABS Friction,
a company he co-founded in 1995. At ABS, Rick is responsible
for driving corporate strategy, business development
and the bottom line.
Producing “Brake Pads REALLY Made
in Canada”, Guelph-based ABS Friction is a leader
in the automotive replacement industry, currently
supplying to over 20 unique markets around the world.
Rick travels extensively internationally but enjoys
that his commute from home to work is about 10 minutes.
A native of Guelph, Ontario, Rick
is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo
and is a Chartered Accountant. Rick has been elected
a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
of Ontario (FCA), the highest designation that the
Institute confers. A student of entrepreneurship and
a dedicated life long learner, Rick is a graduate
of the Ivey Quantum Shift Program, a graduate of the
MIT / EO Birthing of Giants program and an annual
participant in the MIT GOT Entrepreneurs’ Conclave.
An active member of YPO (Young Presidents'
Organization), Rick is past Chapter Chair of the Western
Ontario Chapter of YPO, a member of the International
Events Committee of YPO, and a former “Best of the
Best” Youth and Family Event Champion in YPO for “Youth
on Broadway”.
Rick is a past Co-Chair of the Toronto
Chapter of EO (the Entrepreneurs’ Organization).
Rick serves his industry through participation
as Board member of the AASA (Automotive Aftermarket
Supplier Association), as current Chairman of the
Brake Standards Association, as former President and
Chairman of the Friction Materials Standards Institute
and as former chairman of the Brake Manufacturer’s
Council.
When not at work,
Rick dreams about golf. Rick is a member of 3 golf
clubs and is a Past President, Director and co-founder
of Guelph’s Cutten Fields, and is co-owner of Wildwinds
Golf Links, a chip shot north of Guelph.
